Des centaines de personnes venues de partout ont rendu un dernier hommage à la jeune femme qui a été tuée par balle dans la nuit du 29 au 30 juin à Port-au-Prince.

C’est dans un environnement empreint de tristesse que des centaines de personnes d’horizons divers ont rendu un dernier hommage à la militante politique Marie Antoinette Duclaire ce samedi 24 juillet à la paroisse Sainte-Jeanne de Chantal. Autorités locales, anciens parlementaires, membres d’associations, travailleurs de la presse et de nombreux habitants de la commune de Chantal ont défilé, de très tôt, à la salle paroissiale où le corps de la militante a été exposé. Une heure après son cercueil allait être transporté  à l’enceinte de l’église pour le service funèbre.

“Marie Antoinette Duclaire combattait pour que la vie des gens soit respectée… Netty se battait pour qu’il ait justice dans ce pays”, a dit le Monseigneur Jacques Antoine Coulanges. “Devant un crime aussi crapuleux, toute personne ayant de la conscience doit se révolter”, a-t-il poursuivi.

Selon le Monseigneur Coulanges, Netty n’a pas perdu sa vie puisqu’elle en faisait usage pour aider les autres. Il souhaite que sa vie se multiplie afin de continuer la bataille qu’elle menait de son vivant.

A bout de force et tout éplorée, Widlande Duclaire, épaulée par des membres de sa famille, monte sur l’estrade pour la biographie de sa sœur tuée aux côtés de Diego Charles,  journaliste à radio Vision 2000.

“Ma sœur a été exécutée pour ses convictions, son idéologie, mais surtout pour sa détermination à défendre la cause des plus faibles”, a déclaré Widlande Duclaire en larmes, confiant que sa soeur refusait de prendre une pause dans sa lutte.

“Je lui ai même demandé de me rejoindre à l’étranger. A chaque fois, elle répondait : lè nou tout fin ale kiyès k ap rete pou konbat sistèm sa a » a confié Widlande Duclaire, qui réclame justice pour Antoinette Duclaire.

Le combat de Netty visait la corruption, la justice sociale, selon Jean David Génesté, ancien député des Cayes et de l’Ile-à-Vache. Il a profité de l’occasion pour demander justice pour Antoinette, Diego et toutes les victimes des balles assassines. “La militante est partie mais elle laisse un chemin tracé pour que les jeunes s’engagent à combattre pour l’amélioration des conditions de vie des haïtiens”, a déclaré l’ancien député.

Bien que de nombreuses personnes ne croient plus en la justice dans le pays,  Stéphanie François, une membre de Zèklè (gwoup fanm nan Sid) dit qu’elle n’arrêtera pas de la réclamer. “Nous ne cesserons pas de nous battre comme nous le montrait notre membre Netty”, a-t-elle dit.
