Haïti perd déjà deux athlètes aux JO de Tokyo 2020

En natation, Émilie Faith Grand-Pierre, qui s’est emparée de la première place de sa série en 100 mètres brasse, n’a pas su valider son billet pour les demi-finales. Sabiana Anestor, en judo, a été battue par Ippon par la Georgienne Tetiana Levytska-Shukvani.

La nageuse haïtienne de 20 ans, Émilie Faith Grand-Pierre, dans l’épreuve du 100 mètres brasse, a pris la première place de la série 1 devant les sept autres concurrentes aux Jeux olympiques de Tokyo, ce dimanche matin 25 juillet 2021. Avec un temps d’une minute, 14 secondes et 82 centièmes, elle devance Darya Semyonova (Turkmékistan, 19 ans) qui a réalisé le parcours en 1 minute, 16 secondes et 37 centièmes et Jayla Pina (Cap-Vert, 17 ans) qui a pris la troisième place avec un temps de 1 minute 16 secondes et 96 centièmes.

Pour le reste, Taeyanna Adams (Micronésie, 19 ans) est 4e avec 1 minute 25 secondes et 36 centièmes devant Nooran Ba Matraf (Yéman, 21 ans), 5e avec 1 minute 27 secondes 79 centièmes et Aishath Sajina (Maldives, 24 ans) a pris la dernière place avec 1 minute 33 secondes et 59 centièmes. De son côté, Mariama Touré (Guinée, 17 ans) a été disqualifiée.

Malgré sa première place acquise dans la série 1 avec un temps de 1 minute 14 secondes et 82 centièmes, l’Haïtienne de 20 ans n’a pas pu valider son billet pour les demi-finales du tournoi de natation dans l’épreuve du 100 mètres brasse, aux Jeux olympiques de Tokyo. Comme ce fut le cas pour sa devancière Naomy Grand-Pierre, à Rio de Janeiro, au Brésil en 2016, Émilie qui s’est emparée de la première place de sa série, a été bel et bien éliminée, en tenant compte des résultats des autres séries.

Il y avait en tout et pour tout six séries, comprenant chacune 16 athlètes, sauf celle d’Émilie Grand-Pierre qui en compte sept. En tout, 47 nageuses, en 100 mètres brasse, ont lancé les hostilités en vue de décrocher une place sur le podium, synonyme de médailles. Mais pour y arriver, il faut passer par les demi-finales. Dans ce petit jeu, Émilie a été éliminée puisque 36 autres athlètes ont fait mieux qu’elle. Autrement dit, elles ont fait le parcours dans un temps inférieur à celui de notre représentante.

En judo, le miracle n’aura pas lieu pour Sabiana Anestor aux Jeux olympiques de Tokyo. Hier soir (samedi 24 juillet), au Nippon Budokan (tapis 2), pour le compte du premier match de la journée du dimanche au Japon, l’Haïtienne n’a pu résister à la Géorgienne qui l’a battue par Ippon (10-0).

L’expérimentée Tetiana Levytska-Shukvani (31 ans) n’a fait qu’une bouchée de Sabiana Anestor. Cette dernière a été sèchement battue en 2 minutes 20 secondes. Comme on s’y attendait, Sabiana Anestor (111e mindiale) n’a pas pesé lourd dans la balance, car en face, elle avait affaire à une athlète de classe mondiale (31e).

Quatre autres athlètes haïtiens restent à entrer en lice, ce sont : Davidson Vincent (natation / 100 mètres papillon), Darelle Valsaint Jr (boxe), Lauren Anna Lee (taekwondo) et Mulern Jean (athlétisme).

    Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old
    daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed.

    There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
    She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is
    totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
