​J’ai l’honneur de m’adresser à vous, en ma qualité de Premier ministre, pour  lancer un appel solennel à l’union nationale, à la mise en commun de nos forces et à la coopération de toutes et de tous, en vue de freiner cette course vers l’abîme du pays, de remonter la pente et de mettre notre pays à l’abri des multiples dangers qui le guettent.

Je veux réitérer devant vous ma ferme condamnation de l’assassinat du président de la République, Jovenel Moïse: un crime inqualifiable tant il est odieux et révoltant. J’adresse en mon nom propre, au nom de ma famille et de la nation tout entière, mes condoléances à la famille présidentielle, durement éprouvée et au peuple haïtien. Je souhaite un prompt rétablissement à la première dame, Martine Moïse.  Je donne l’assurance que toute la lumière sera faite et que les coupables et leurs commanditaires répondront de leurs actes devant la justice haïtienne.

​Ces jours derniers, j’ai rencontré des compatriotes et divers acteurs de la vie nationale, politiques bien sûr, mais aussi de la société civile et du secteur privé.  J’ai l’intention de poursuivre et d’approfondir ces discussions, car c’est le seul moyen de rassembler la famille haïtienne, de transcender nos divergences et nos antagonismes et de contempler ensemble un avenir différent.  C’est par le dialogue et la concertation que nous parviendrons à définir ensemble les contours des politiques à mener pendant cette période intérimaire, à faire les choix essentiels pour la transformation de notre société et des conditions de vie des plus vulnérables de nos compatriotes. Dans les jours qui viennent, je recommencerai mes rencontres avec les représentants des forces vives de la nation en vue de construire un consensus suffisant autour d’un accord politique.

En tant que Premier ministre, j’en appelle à l’altruisme des patriotes haïtiens pour un dépassement de soi afin de faire face ensemble aux dangers qui nous menacent tous et mettent en péril l’existence même de la Nation. J’en appelle au souvenir de nos ancêtres dont les prouesses, la bravoure et l’esprit de sacrifice ont fait l’épopée de 1804 qui a fait de nous un peuple libre et nous a légué cette patrie dont nous devons nous montrer dignes.

    Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I
    found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
    There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
    She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off
