Le gouvernement remet un lot de 16 véhicules à la PNH

Publié le 2022-04-14 | lenouvelliste.com Le chef du gouvernement, Ariel Henry, a présidé, ce jeudi 14 avril, une cérémonie de remise d’un lot de 16 véhicules à la direction générale de la Police nationale d’Haïti. En présence de plusieurs ministres et du haut état-major de la PNH, Ariel Henry a expliqué que cette démarche visait à soutenir les efforts payants de la police. Le Premier ministre a également assuré que son gouvernement était déterminé à combattre l’insécurité et les gangs. « La question de la sécurité constitue une priorité de l’ensemble de la population. C’est la priorité du gouvernement. Malgré les efforts quotidiens de nos policiers, nos concitoyens attendent encore plus de nous pour garantir leur sécurité et pour leur permettre de vaquer à leurs occupations partout sur le territoire sans avoir à craindre pour leurs vies. Ceci est une revendication légitime et c’est la responsabilité du gouvernement d’assurer la protection des vies et des biens de tous les citoyens. Les bandits ne peuvent pas continuer à défier l’autorité de l’Etat et à terroriser les paisibles citoyens », a déclaré Ariel Henry.

Le Premier ministre a souligné l’importance de doter la PNH de ces matériels roulants malgré la dégradation de la situation économique du pays. « Malgré la précarité de nos ressources budgétaires, il nous incombe de dégager les moyens qu’il faut pour équiper les hommes et les femmes qui ont choisi de s’engager dans la police nationale et de mettre leur vienen danger pour préserver les nôtres. Ils méritent notre reconnaissance et notre respect. Ils méritent que nous fassions les sacrifices qui s’imposent pour leur fournir les équipements dont ils ont besoin pour accomplir leur devoir », a-t-il fait savoir, soulignant que ce don de véhicules tout-terrain n’est que le commencement. « Nous allons, dans les jours et les semaines qui viennent, poursuivre cet effort et donner à la PNH d’autres équipements adaptés à la lutte sans merci que nous leur demandons d’engager contre les gangs », a-t-il ajouté.

« Je me suis entendu avec le directeur général de la PNH pour que ces véhicules assurent une plus grande présence de la police dans les rues et les quartiers. Je recommande à la PNH de bien les entretenir et de faire un bon usage de ces équipements que nous venons d’acquérir au prix de lourds sacrifices », a exhorté le chef du gouvernement.

Le directeur général de la  PNH, Frantz Elbé, a exprimé sa gratitude en ce qui concerne le don du gouvernement. « Ce geste, très apprécié par le commandement, exprime la volonté indéfectible des autorités haïtiennes à accompagner la police nationale dans sa mission constitutionnelle de garantir l’ordre public, la sécurité intérieure de l’Etat par la protection des vies et des biens. Depuis un certain temps, cette responsabilité essentielle s’affronte à des difficultés majeures liées à un manque d’équipements et de matériels adéquats. C’est l’occasion pour moi de saluer les efforts des policiers et de leur renouveler ma confiance et les encourager à rester dans les voies de l’engagement, du devoir, de l’esprit de sacrifice et de service », a déclaré le commandant en chef de la police.

Selon Frantz Elbé, l’arrivée de ces véhicules inaugurent la mise en branle d’une série d’actions du gouvernement visant à renforcer les capacités opérationnelles de la police. Ce, afin qu’elle puisse mieux affronter les défis actuels qui sont de nature multidimensionnelle et qui requièrent la participation de tous les acteurs de la vie nationale. « J’attends à ce qu’un usage responsable de ces véhicules soit fait dans quel que soit le lieu d’affectation. (…) Nous sommes surs que le gouvernement va continuer à mettre au profit de la PNH d’autres ressources telles que demandées par l’institution afin de lui faciliter à ramener la paix et la sécurité dans le pays », espère Frantz Elbé.
