Cette transfiguration était patente même dans ses gestes: des mains en perpétuels mouvements comme pour broyer, la bouche figée dans une moue de dédain, le menton volontaire, un regard habité en permanence par une hostilité cinglante. Il avait parfois des éclairs fulgurants de lucidité vite ternis par une vision fractionnée du paysage politique et social haïtien. Il se vivait peut-être comme un Sankara mais plus secrètement et sans doute plus pleinement comme un François Duvalier.

Mais autre temps, autres moeurs. À l’ère des nouvelles technologies de l’information et de la liberté de la presse durement conquise, les surenchères démagogiques trouvent leurs limites. Epicure disait: “ Celui qui a l’esprit bien en paix ne dérange ni lui-même ni les autres ”. Jovenel Moïse n’avait pas l’esprit en paix. Il en a payé tragiquement le prix.
